Am I too old to find work in Japan?

I am English, 36 years old and I can obtain a spouse visa because I am married to a Japanese lady.

My education applies to City & Guilds, Business Administration, Financial Route; University of Wales Diploma; BA in Contemporary East European Studies at the University of London (SSEES, SOAS, LSE  and MA in Asia Pacific Studies.

I have also studied Japanese history and politics at the University of London, and I have good knowledge of the Meiji period and political leaders like Yoshida, Ikeda, Sato, Tanaka, Hashimoto, and others.  My MA degree was also in Asia Pacific Studies and I have studied regional economic zones, for example the Sea of Japan, Bohai Sea, Tumen River Delta, and so forth.

Despite this, and having done various jobs in the past, notably analyst, research, marketing, advice work, human rights work, freelance, teaching, and administration work; I still can’t find work in Japan.

Therefore, am I too old?  Or is it because my Japanese ability is limited?  Whatever, I seem to have come up against a barrier, and I presume it must be my age, what do you think?
